Use the table you have created to write one 3-5 sentence paragraph describing each step of the Engineering Design Process...Paragraphs will go into your wikitable/ppt/prezi/glogster/poster on your engineering page...

  • What PROBLEM was defined -
  • How did you BRAINSTORM - by yourself? with others?
  • How did you DESIGN your Invention - must include a diagram or blueprint of some type
  • How was it BUILT...what materials did you use, etc.
  • How did you test and evaluate your engineering project...what adjustments did you make/REDESIGN

Each Wiki Table paragraph identified and described the engineering design process step completely and thoroughly. Each step was discussed and understanding of its relevance to their project was demonstrated by the student.
Student clearly identified and defined the problem to be solved. The statement is thoughtful and contains a minimum of five complete and descriptive sentences.
Student created a blueprint or design to model their invention before beginning to build. Materials for construction were clearly identified and reasoning for material choice was provided. Blue print is clearly labeled and easy to understand.
Student(s) identified, collected, and brought all needed materials for the building process. Effort was put forth in obtaining said materials. Measurable data must be collected. A testing process was described and carried out. A finished invention or prototype was presented. Adjustments made were discussed.
Student(s) effectively communicated the results of their invention design to the audience. All five steps of the design process were discussed. DON'T READ TO ME...i ALREADY KNOW HOW.
